#1. CARPE DIEM CAFE
Okay. So delicious food clearly extends outside of the Downtown Peterborough core. Joanne took me out for lunch last week to celebrate my last day at work, and she took me to a place in East City called
CARPE DIEM CAFE.

(CHECK THEM OUT: http://www.carpediemcafe.net/)

The food was DELICIOUS! I couldn't take other photos, mainly because I was stuffing my face. Here's a quick picture of the soup I had- came in such a cute little bowl! The overall ambience and decor of the place impressed me with the home-y-ness and eclectic nature! The adorable puppy that this family-business owned just won me over.
#2. ASHBURNHAM ALE HOUSE
Another East City visit! We went here for our first dinner during Senior Don training, and it was DELICIOUS! I got The Basa (I believe...), a Vietnamese catfish wrap, which was a bit on the spicy side with the heavy pepper, but definitely would recommend it! Only downside was the slow service, but aside from that, it was a cute atmosphere place - clean, open space, modern-rustic feel to it.

I personally wouldn't count these as part of the bucket list, but moreso 'bonuses' to these eating adventures!

Cheers,
Jess.

One bucket list? My OCD-organizational side can't handle that - there's simply too many things to fit into ONE list. So on this page of my blog, I will document 2 (or more in the future) lists.

BUCKET LIST #1: EXPLORE CAMPUS
To document (via photos) every nook and cranny on the Trent campus. I absolutely REFUSE to graduate from a university - of a relatively small scale, without having seen all of it!
So I will definitely post pictures and a little commentary on each location!

BUCKET LIST #2: EXPLORE PETERBOROUGH
Definitely can't graduate and leave Peterborough without trying EVERYTHING right? I stumbled upon this page when I was at work the other day: http://downtownptbo.ca/category/eat-drink and I have taken it upon myself to use it as a bucket list/check list for places to visit.

  • Bakeries and Sweets: 2/4
  • Bars and Nightclubs (In my defense, many are mixed with food places): 10/22
  • Cafes & Coffee Houses: 7/9
  • Restaurants: 16/39
  • Take-Out: 5/11

This will be an interesting year for sure! Hopefully it won't break my wallet.

Cheers,
-Jess.
